Summer School

The summer school precedes the symposium and aims to bring  new comers-early researchers with those experienced in the field. The school covers the state-of-the-art reviews in selected topics plus in depth coverage of materials and electrochemical characterization techniques.

We plan hands-on sessions  on  Rietveld refinement of XRD/Synchrotron data.  We are also considering to include  similar sessions   on electrochemical impendence spectroscopy for battery as well as for fuel cells research.

Details regarding hands-on sessions on Rietveld  and EIS   would soon be announced on this page.

Topics to be covered in the summer school are as follows;

Material/Electrochemical Characterization
Y.Eren Kalay:In Situ Synchrotron Diffraction and Rietveld Analysis
Matthew Lacey: Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy for Battery Research
Meltem Sezen:Focus Ion Beam Techniques in Material Characterization
Servet Turan Advanced Techniques in Electron Microscopy
-X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in battery research/ TBA

M. Kadri Aydınol :How to make batteries-cell making pocesses
Michael Aziz: Organic Flow Batteries (*)
Aligul Buyukaksoy: Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Babu Chalamala:   Grid-Scale Energy Storage
Rezan Demir-Cakan: Li-S batteries
Duncan Paul Fagg : Protonic Fuel Cells.
Mehmet Oguz Guler :Li-ion Batteries
Onder Metin:Catalysis-A Brief Overview
Mustafa Urgen : Supercapacitors

(*) Due to late arrival, Prof. Aziz ‘s session  will take place after Sept 10th, the precise time slot ( either in the evening of Sept 11th or Sept 12th) will be announced. All other sessions  will take place from Sept 7th  to Sept 10th.
